The formula for getting what you actually want

I want to be upfront about something before I get into this. I am not standing here as someone who has this completely figured out. I have been working on the ability to manifest and create for quite a long time, and for a lot of it with fairly haphazard results. But that has given me the training wheels to start accelerating things, and in the last year or two I have started to actually experience the results of some of my deepest desires and goals.

The theme of what I want to share today is simple in concept and difficult in practice. It is this: burning desire plus non-resistance equals desired outcome. Three principles, three parts. And the desire and the non-resistance are at opposite ends of the spectrum, which is entirely the point.

What is a burning desire, and how do you find yours

A burning desire is not the same as a wish. Most of us spend our lives wishing for things, and wondering why they do not arrive. A wish is fleeting, something we picked up from someone else, from our parents or from what society says success looks like. A burning desire comes from somewhere else entirely.

It comes from the heart. It is something that never really leaves you. It is persistent and pervasive and it comes from deep within rather than from the surface. A strong thought that keeps coming back over months or years is often a clue that this is something you genuinely need to pursue.

My ultimate why for getting into crypto, when I am really honest about it, was not the money. The money mattered, but the money was really about freedom. To be free on every level. That is my burning desire, and I think some of you reading this will relate to that.

The why is hugely important. You do not need to know the how at the beginning. When I first got into crypto I had no idea of the how. I just launched myself into the research and found myself completely captivated. If you have a big enough why, it will eventually solve every how.

The training balance scale

A mentor I have been studying, Kevin Trudeau, has a book called Your Wish is Your Command that I would highly recommend. He talks about what he calls the training balance scale. On one side you have attitude: your desires, your goals, your why, who you are at your core. On the other side you have actions, strategies and tactics. His contention is that the scale is roughly 90% attitude and desire, and only 5 to 10% strategy and how.

Most of us have it inverted. We focus almost entirely on what to do and give almost no attention to who we are being and why we want it. He also talks about the four levels of consciousness, from unconscious incompetence at the bottom, people who do not know that they do not know, through to unconscious competence at the top, where everything is second nature and you are completely in the flow. We are all on that ladder. The goal is simply to climb it.

Non-resistance: the hardest part

When we set a lofty goal, we tend to get bogged down in all the resistance: the opposition, the challenges, the beliefs that tell us we cannot do it. Money is evil. You will never amount to much. It is better to play small. All the stuff that was put into us when we were very young, by well-meaning friends and family, by authority figures, by a system that was not designed for us to rise.

Here is a quote I found really powerful recently. If you want to make more money, your job is not to figure out how to make more money. Your job is to identify whatever resistance you have to making more money, and let go of that resistance. That is the essence of what we are trying to do.

The mind is like a computer: a transmitter and receiver of information. We are programmed with 90% of our conditioning by the age of seven. Neurons that fire together wire together, as Joe Dispenza says. If you are constantly thinking of something and you are in harmony with it and you feel good about it, you will literally start rewiring the neural pathways in your brain and opening new ones. Where once there was a brick wall, suddenly you can start to see through it.

The power of words, imagination and meditation

The spoken word is our wand. What we affirm about ourselves matters. The most powerful two words in the universe are arguably I am. When you say I am tired, I am struggling, I am not good enough, you are affirming that as your state. When you say I am abundant, I am capable, I am moving toward something real, you are affirming that instead. Affirm what you are, not what you want, because the more we want something, the more we are declaring that we do not have it.

Imagination is your vision brought into sharp focus. Einstein said imagination was more powerful than knowledge, and real wisdom comes when you can imagine the world you want to be in and feel yourself in it. See yourself already in possession of your desire. Engage all the senses and you will start to accelerate the process.

Meditation is the missing piece for most people. The alpha and theta states we reach in deep relaxation are the creation states. Just twenty minutes of sitting quietly, watching thoughts pass like clouds and returning to a mantra, is extraordinarily powerful for getting out of your own way. Our nervous system will not allow us to get there if we are weighed down by past dramas, traumas, and beliefs that are not serving us.

Surrender is not giving up

The final and often the hardest piece is surrender. And I want to be very clear about what I mean, because this is often misunderstood.

Surrender is not waving the white flag and saying I give up. Surrender is waving the white flag to all the conditioning, to all the shoulds and coulds, to all the attachment to outcomes. It is being absolutely at peace with whatever is happening, despite appearances. It is saying I trust, I allow, I have faith, I am open to whatever comes.

True surrender is a very high-frequency state. It is saying the universe has a better read on things than I do, and I am going to allow what wants to come through to come through. We get pushed to the limit until sometimes surrender is the only option left. And I think a lot of people are getting to that point right now. The good news is that for most of them, it is the beginning of something, not the end.

Your stress goes down as your knowledge goes up. And perhaps the deepest knowledge of all is that we are not meant to force the river. We are meant to align with it.

You now know something most people don't. Use it wisely.
